“Fragments of Life” – Kamilė Leonavičiūtė’s solo exhibition

Kamilė Leonavičiūtė’s solo exhibition opens up a creative field where photography becomes a way to reflect on and recognize personal growth and inner transformation. This process is revealed through portraits of women, combined into series of photographs that lead through different states – from melancholy to transformation. Kamilė creates from the inside, allowing life to dictate the direction of her work, and the image to speak the language of intuition.

The leitmotif of the exhibition and the symbol of intuition are shells – signs of inner depths and spiritual journey. They are conductors to the author’s world, through which the depth, authenticity and connection with the subtle space of creation are revealed.

The element of water is also important in the exhibition. Water is the native home of shells. In the works, it becomes a symbol of renewal, the flow of life and constant transformation. Just as water constantly changes its form, so everything that surrounds us – relationships, nature, body, feelings and thoughts – is constantly changing. Faced with this change, the artist chooses to trust the flow and accept change as the only law of constancy.

As the author herself states:

“I am, and who I am is constantly changing, evolving. Just like the only truth – it does not exist. It changes with us.”

In this visual narrative, the exhibition viewer is left with the space to explore, recognize themselves or simply remain an observer and weave their own, temporary narrative from the fragments of the exhibition.

Kamilė Leonavičiūtė Babiedienė (b. 1994) is a creator of portrait and artistic photography. Her work combines aesthetics, intuition, emotional sensitivity and the exploration of human inner states. Inspired by transformation, cyclicality, nature and spiritual unity, she creates a sensitive, laconic aesthetic visual world. Her work is characterized by nostalgia, a subtle sense of beauty and attention to detail, where each element becomes a meaningful part of the whole. Seven years in Copenhagen, travel and experiences in different cultures have shaped her visual style and relationship with images.

Text is an important part of the artist’s creative process. Writing a diary and personal reflections help the author interpret her works, identify their themes and give the images an additional inner layer. In addition to photography, the author also creates video works, in which the same themes of the flow of time and human inner experience are important to her.
